#ClimberStories Series

Regardless of your job title, you've probably come face-to-face with a personal or professional challenge that turned your world upside-down. Something that made you take a step back and reevaluate who you are, what you're made of and what your priorities are.

Our Summit Blog series Climber Stories explores these hurdles and transformations with real stories from some of our own Climbers (aka employees). When you're faced with adversity at work, what do you do? Do you have the motivitation or grit to push through or do you need some inspiration? Through these stories, we hope you find some strength and wisdom to keep propelling yourself forward in times of challenge, just like we do!

When Your Career Goes from Awesome to "Oh ****"

After realizing some success early on in my time with PG on the Recruiting team, I moved to a role in the Payroll Department. Things were going really well.

Before long, I was surprised on an all-company call with a promotion. I felt great! I was excited for new challenges. As a manager, I was now responsible for the professional development of others, not just myself. But, I didn’t know what I was doing. I was stressed and I wasn’t doing an effective job supporting my team.

Then I got demoted. I had a choice in that moment – give up or push through. What felt like a crushing moment, personally and professionally, ended up being an incredible gift to my grit and professional path. See why!
