Have you ever attended a military funeral? A military graduation ceremony? Visited the Vietnam Memorial? There’s a distinct feeling that tugs at the most sensitive strings in your heart when you do.
Ask a Veteran of our Armed Forces to describe the what it means to serve. Most will struggle and many responses will differ. But put them all in the same room and you’ll feel the uncommon and unique bond they struggle to put into words. It’s simply what trust feels like. The one thing we deeply crave in all we do.
Imagine for a moment signing a check that read “payable in any amount up to and including one’s life”. Then surrounding yourself with a community of people that signed the exact same check. What would that community feel like? Would they look out for one another? Cover for one another? Protect and love one another? Trust.
Embedded deeply in the feeling of a great community is a mindset of selflessness… because you can’t create trust without putting the needs of others ahead of your own.
PG will be 13 this year. We’re creating a community we love and we are now officially a certified Veteran Owned Business. But why certify now when we could’ve done it years ago? Because someone that trusted us needed our help, and getting certified helped them to help someone else. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
This certification is a symbol of our relentless pursuit to reach the Unrealistic Place – the community of trust we all imagine.
All Hail the Volunteer.
